Bio

Eldon is an award-winning HR professional with over 12 years of experience in community development, Labour Economic research, recruitment and project management.

Before joining the Dream Legacy Foundation in 2019, he co-authored and published the Counter-Cyclical Workforce Planning Strategy for the Canadian Mining sector which was used to implement workforce sharing agreements for vulnerable communities and employees. His area of expertise is developing workforce planning policies, and talent management strategies for the private, public, and non-profit sectors. As a bilingual Certified Human Resource Consultant, he is often called upon to build specialized and diverse leadership teams from across Canada. He’s passionate about Skilled Trades and helping great people find meaningful work.

Eldon also designed, funded, and led the Connecting The Dots Project, with a team of rock star youth volunteers. Together, they forged a national initiative that established a Canadian network of Black leaders who are working towards positive change. His work was nationally recognized. Deeply connected to the community, he is a recipient of the United Way Community Builders Award 2017, and the 2018 Ontario Black History Society UN International Decade Award For People of African Descent.

Eldon holds a degree in Economics and Public Policy from the University of Ottawa and is an accredited Staffing Consultant. When he is not tackling the underemployment conundrum, he can be found mentoring youth, filming documentaries, or experimenting with making small-batch Hibiscus Sorrel Kombucha.
