Bio
Cathy Latiwa is a lawyer, project manager, inclusion and gender expert working in the development sector (with experience in European Union and United Nations processes). Public speaker, facilitator and a certified international trainer on Leadership & Conflict management Skills for Electoral Stakeholders (LEAD).
Academic and professional experience from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Nigeria, Cameroon and Belgium. Fluent in English, French, Swahili and basic knowledge in Italian and Spanish.
Extensive experience in gender equality, women and girl child rights, women’s political empowerment, inclusive political processes and electoral support program in Africa.
A philanthropist, with an established organisation operational in the DRC, Cameroon and Nigeria, with a focus on women and girls’ economic empowerment.
A strong supporter of programs and organisations led by women in various sectors including climate change, renewable energy, recycling non-biodegradable materials especially in art, fashion, and sanitation campaigns.
