Bio

Assumed several leadership positions, most recently as a member of the Presidential Advisory Council for Community Development, in addition to her position as a Head of the Central Department for Community Development in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), and the Regional Director of the Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development in Egypt Project– UNDP. Over the course of more than twenty years she contributed to the achievement of global development goals through many projects.

Through her work in the community development field she contributed to several national strategic initiatives, especially for the marginalized segments among which was the national “Telemedicine Project” that enhances health services especially in remote and rural areas. Moreover, she shared in formulating the socio-economic development policies using information and communication technologies, many of which were applied to become successful national projects in Egypt and the Arab world and North Africa. The management of many national programs and initiatives, where responsibilities included strategic planning and international cooperation and coordination of partnerships among all stakeholders including governmental, international bodies and private sector companies and civil society organizations. Given the importance of these partnerships she has succeeded in attracting investments of international organizations, the establishment of development partnerships and the promotion of concerted national efforts in many fields including entrepreneurship, digital employment, education, health, women empowerment, enabling persons with disabilities, as well as remote and marginalized communities’ initiatives.

Adopted a number of innovative development models at the local level the most important among which was “Qodwa Tech. Initiative” through building the digital capacities of female entrepreneurs as well as developing IT solutions that potentially boost their business, hence, improve their livelihood. She also participated in many international and regional conferences, working papers and official speaker for the dissemination of best practices and deepening cooperation between the countries of the south, during her administration of the developmental projects which won more than 26 international recognitions and awards.

She has a BA in Electronics and Communication from Cairo University, Egypt and an MBA from Paris Sorbonne University, France.
