As the Director of Venture Investments for Leaps by Bayer, PJ drives the development and execution of a broad investment strategy that accelerates innovation in the Food & Ag space. PJ comes from a scientific background and has also experienced the frontlines of digital innovation. He has spent his entire career in the agriculture/food industry seeking scientific and technological developments that will have a major impact on the future of agriculture and our food supply – moving the focus of agriculture from simply producing more, to producing better.
PJ led Bayer’s investment in Apollo Agriculture, the breakthrough Kenya-based startup providing modern farming solution to Sub-Saharan Africa. PJ joined Bayer in 2011 and has held various leadership roles across the R&D and IT organizations; prior to which he was conducting research as an analytical chemist for the USDA. PJ has both a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
