Ray O’Brien
Bio
Ray is a senior financial services executive with over thirty years’ experience. He has worked in multiple banks including HSBC, Deutsche, Paribas, Nomura and Kleinwort Benson as well as running a consultancy company. He has held a number of roles in different areas of banking including COO, CIO, head of transformation and head of analytics. In his role at HSBC as the Risk and Compliance COO he lead the Global Standards programme to successfully remediate the bank on their 5-Year Financial Crime DPA. He was a member of the Group Risk Management Board and the Group COO Executive Committee. Voted risk manager of the year by Banking Technology magazine, Ray played a key role in being an early adopter of cloud technology and digital transformation.
Ray now works as an advisor to a number of Technology companies with a unique mix of expertise in Data, Analytics, Technology, Risk and Finance. A proven influencer who makes an impactful difference operating with Boards and C-Level decision makers .
Ray is happily married with two children and lives in London. He holds a Mathematics and Computer Science degree.
